EXTREME COLD PROTECTION UP TO -40°C
Extremely cold or wet weather conditions in the workplace pose a serious danger. Frostbite and hypothermia are a real problem for many industrial workers. Portwest has over 40 models in the High Visibility, Rainwear and Flame Retardant product categories that are EN 342 certified for cold protection.
Our unwavering commitment to worker safety is reflected in the rigorous testing and standards we maintain for our products. We thoroughly test our garments to ensure they protect workers in even the most extreme cold conditions. Using the EN 342 standard, which uses a heated test dummy, we measure the thermal insulation of our garments to determine their performance. This test not only classifies the effectiveness of the insulation, but also estimates the maximum wear time based on the wearer's activity level, ambient temperature, wind speed and the insulation value of the clothing.
